Lady Warriors Thump York to Earn
First Win
PITTSFORD,
N.Y. – All five Lady Warrior starters scored in double
figures as the Lycoming women’s basketball won its first
game of the season 78-51 against York College (N.Y.) as part
of the Ramada Inn Invitational at St. John Fisher College on
Saturday afternoon. Lycoming improves to 1-1 on the season
while York falls to 0-2.
Seniors
Danielle Kern (Lehman, Pa./Lake-Lehman) and Amy
Kile (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) both notched 16 points. Kern
added seven rebounds and four steals to her totals while
Kile registered five boards and just as many takeaways.
Freshman
Andrea Cooper (Holidaysburg, Pa./Holidaysburg) and
senior Stacy Lindeman (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall)
added 15 tallies apiece while sophomore Michelle Wisla
(Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) chipped in 10
points. Cooper included seven rebounds in her stat line
while Lindeman recorded six. Wisla led the squad with five
assists.
York was
led by a game-best 21 points from Jenny Deida and was
supported by Desiree Patton’s 12-point effort.
Tabitha McClamy grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
Lycoming
shot a sparkling 54.9 percent from the field for the game
including an 18 for 29, 62.1 percent showing in the first
half. In contrast, the Warriors held York to only 26.5
percent shooting for the contest.
The
Warriors enjoyed a 46-23 lead at halftime and in a sight
quite pleasing to head coach Christen Ditzler, her young
squad increased its margin in the second frame instead of
giving York an opportunity to come back.
Lycoming
is next in action on Tuesday, November 22, as the Warriors
travel to College Misericordia. Game time is schedule for
6:00 p.m.
