WARRIOR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL WINS CONSOLATION GAME AT BLUE JAY CLASSIC

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team snapped a three-game losing skid, Sunday afternoon, defeating Elizabethtown College, 54-44, in the consolation game of the Blue Jay Classic. The victory ups Lycoming’s record to 4-5 while Elizabethtown falls to 3-6.

The Warriors and Blue Jays played even through the first half heading to the locker rooms knotted at 20-20. Lycoming, however, took control in the second half outscoring Elizabethtown 34-24 to secure the victory.

Mindy Culp (So./New Columbia, PA; Milton) led the Warriors in scoring for the second consecutive game with 13 points. Lyndy LeVan (Sr./South Williamsport, PA; South Williamsport) added 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Michelle Stine (So./Mill Hall, PA; Central Mountain) led the squad with five assists.

LeVan was named to the all-tournament team for her performance in the two-day event.

Lycoming is at home for their next game hosting Juniata College on Wednesday, January 8. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
