WARRIOR WOMEN DEFEATS COLONELS
LYNDY LEVAN BREAKS ALL-TIME SCORING RECORD

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team won their second consecutive conference contest, Wednesday evening, defeating Wilkes University 65-45. The Warriors used stifling defense throughout the game to secure the double-digit victory. Lycoming improves to 9-10 overall and 4-5 within the conference with the win. Wilkes falls to 12-7 and 4-5.

The Warriors limited the Colonels to just 27% shooting in the first half as they built a 31-16 lead by intermission. Lycoming benefited from a balanced offensive attack as eight different players scored in the opening period.

In the second half, Wilkes was unable to mount a comeback never pulling within single-digits of the Warriors.

Adding to the important conference victory was an individual accomplishment by senior Lyndy LeVan (South Williamsport, PA; South Williamsport). With 9:27 remaining in the game, LeVan connected on a three-point field goal that made her Lycoming’s all-time leading scorer with 1,493 career points. The game was paused moments later for a photo of Levan with former scoring leader Erica Weaver. Weaver scored 1,490 points from 1994-1998.

Sabrina Catrambone (Fr./Birchrunville, PA; Springfield) was the Warriors’ leading scorer in the game with 17 points. LeVan added 15 markers and 10 rebounds. Katy Kresge (Jr./Lehighton, PA; Marian Catholic) came off the bench to score 11 points for Lycoming. Michelle Stine (So./Mill Hall, PA; Central Mountain) recorded a game-high seven assists.

For the Colonels, Whitney Bull (Sr./Berwick, PA; Berwick) tallied game-highs in both points with 18 and rebounds with 13. Andrea DeMaranville (So./Larksville, PA; Wyoming Valley West) added nine points and seven boards.

The Warriors are home again on Saturday, February 8, when they host FDU-Florham. Tip-off for the game is 1 p.m.
