LYCOMING WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DROPS SEASON FINALE AT DESALES

CENTER VALLEY, PA – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team traveled to DeSales University, Saturday afternoon, hoping to hang onto the fourth and final spot in the conference playoffs. The Warriors, however, fell to the Bulldogs, 71-48, and were eliminated from participating in the conference tournament. Lycoming ends the season with a mark of 10-14 overall and 5-9 within the conference. DeSales improves to 23-2 and 12-2.

The Warriors got out of the gate first and opened up a 12-7 lead four minutes into the ballgame. The Bulldogs, however, kept their composure and methodically outscored Lycoming 35-8 the remainder of the half.

Trailing 42-20 at the intermission, the Warriors were unable to climb back into the game in the second half, eventually falling by a final score of 71-48.

Lyndy LeVan (Sr./South Williamsport, PA; South Williamsport) led Lycoming with 15 points and 10 rebounds in her final game in a Warrior uniform. Emily DiMarco (Jr./Voorhees, NJ; Eastern) and Katy Kresge (Jr./Lehighton, PA; Marian Catholic) each added eight markers.

DeSales was led by Teri Antolick with a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds. Amy Yencho chipped in 12 points, and Jen Netwall added 11 markers.

The Bulldogs finish as the number-two seed for the Freedom Conference tournament and will host the University of Scranton on Wednesday, February 26. King’s College will host Delaware Valley College in the other semifinal match-up.
