WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DROPS SEASON FINALE AT DESALES
CENTER VALLEY, PA
– The Lycoming College women’s basketball team traveled to
DeSales University, Saturday afternoon, hoping to hang onto the
fourth and final spot in the conference playoffs. The Warriors,
however, fell to the Bulldogs, 71-48, and were eliminated from
participating in the conference tournament. Lycoming ends the
season with a mark of 10-14 overall and 5-9 within the conference.
DeSales improves to 23-2 and 12-2.
The
Warriors got out of the gate first and opened up a 12-7 lead four
minutes into the ballgame. The Bulldogs, however, kept their
composure and methodically outscored Lycoming 35-8 the remainder
of the half.
Trailing
42-20 at the intermission, the Warriors were unable to climb back
into the game in the second half, eventually falling by a final
score of 71-48.
Lyndy
LeVan (Sr./South Williamsport, PA; South Williamsport)
led Lycoming with 15 points and 10 rebounds in her final game in a
Warrior uniform. Emily DiMarco (Jr./Voorhees, NJ; Eastern)
and Katy Kresge (Jr./Lehighton, PA; Marian Catholic) each
added eight markers.
DeSales
was led by Teri Antolick with a game-high 19 points and 10
rebounds. Amy Yencho chipped in 12 points, and Jen Netwall added
11 markers.
The
Bulldogs finish as the number-two seed for the Freedom Conference
tournament and will host the University of Scranton on Wednesday,
February 26. King’s College will host Delaware Valley College in
the other semifinal match-up.
