LYCOMING WOMEN’S HOOPS FALLS TO SCRANTON

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team hosted the University of Scranton, Wednesday evening, for a Freedom Conference match-up. The Warriors shot just 17% from the field in the first half and never recovered, falling to the Lady Royals, 76-48. Lycoming drops to 12-7 overall and 4-4 within the conference this season. Scranton, ranked fifth in the nation, improved to 19-1 and 8-1.

Rebecca Pugh (So./Pine Grove, Pa.; Pine Grove) was the only Warrior to score in double figures with 10 points, including three three-pointers. Michelle Stine (Jr./Mill Hall, Pa.; Central Mountain) added seven points and Katy Kresge (Sr./Lehighton, Pa.; Marian Catholic) pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

Scranton was led by Kate Pierangeli with 15 points and Katie Dougherty with 12 points. Tara Gemmel added 11 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

Lycoming will play again on Saturday, February 7, when they travel to Delaware Valley College.
