WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team hosted conference rival Wilkes University, Wednesday evening. The Warriors turned in another impressive performance in winning their third straight game by a final of 91-57. Lycoming improves to 9-5 overall and 2-2 within the Freedom Conference with the victory. The Colonels fall to 1-13 and 0-4.

For the second consecutive game, the Warriors scored the first bucket and never trailed in a runaway win. Wilkes hung around for most of the first half, but an 11-4 run by Lycoming over the final four minutes of the period opened up a 39-26 lead for the home team at halftime. In the second half, the Warriors turned up the offense hitting 56% of their shots and posting 52 points.

Mindy Culp (Jr./New Columbia, Pa.; Milton) paced Lycoming with a game-high 23 points. She also grabbed seven rebounds and handed out five assists. Sabrina Catrambone (So./Birchrunville, Pa.; Springfield) added 12 markers, and Katy Kresge (Sr./Lehighton, Pa.; Marian Catholic) chipped in eight points and a game-high nine rebounds. Emily DiMarco (Sr./Voorhees, N.J.; Eastern) and Danielle Kern (So./Lehman, Pa.; Lake-Lehman) scored nine and eight points, respectively, to round out a starting five that accounted for 60 of the Warriors 91 points.

Lycoming will travel to FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon for another Freedom Conference contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
