LYCOMING WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DOMINATES PENN STATE-ALTOONA

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team hosted Penn State-Altoona, Monday evening, for a non-conference contest. The Warriors scored the first points of the game and never trailed as they dominated the Lions in a 76-49 victory. Lycoming improves to 8-5 with the win. Penn State-Altoona falls to 2-10.

The Warriors controlled the action early, but the Lions were able to stay within single digits until midway through period. Leading by five, Lycoming used an 11-0 run to take a 27-11 lead. The Warriors maintained a comfortable margin at halftime leading 33-20. Lycoming continued to pull away in the second half, leading by as much as 29 before the final horn sounded.

Mindy Culp (Jr./New Columbia, Pa.; Milton) and Rebecca Pugh (So./Pine Grove, Pa.; Pine Grove) paced the Warriors with 11 points each. Danielle Kern (So./Lehman, Pa.; Lake-Lehman) added nine markers and Emily DiMarco (Sr./Voorhees, N.J.; Eastern) chipped in eight as 13 of Lycoming’s 14 players scored at least once during the game.

Tara Stock led the Lions with 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Warriors will be in action again on Wednesday, January 21, when they host conference rival Wilkes University. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
