LYCOMING WOMEN’S BASKETBALL BOWS TO MONARCHS

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team returned to conference competition, Wednesday evening, traveling to King’s College. The Warriors struggled offensively in the first half and never recovered falling to the Monarchs by a score of 82-47. Lycoming drops to 6-5 overall and 0-2 in the Freedom Conference this season. King’s improves to 11-2 and 3-0.

The Warriors shot just 22% from the field in the first half as they fell behind the Monarchs 45-15 by halftime. Lycoming found their offense in the second half, putting up 32 markers, but it was not enough to catch King’s.

Rebecca Pugh (So./Pine Grove, Pa.; Pine Grove) led the Warriors with 15 points and four rebounds. Danielle Kern (So./Lehman, Pa.; Lake-Lehman) added seven points and another four rebounds.

Lycoming will be in action again on Saturday, January 17, when they host conference rival Delaware Valley College. Tip-off is at 1 p.m.
