WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team hosted FDU-Florham, Saturday afternoon, for a Freedom Conference contest. The Warriors opened up a 21-point lead by halftime and cruised to an 84-63 victory. Lycoming improves to 13-9 overall and 5-6 within the conference. The Devils fall to 4-18 and 1-11. The Warriors set the tone early, opening the game with a 10-4 run. FDU would close within one midway through the period at 16-15, but Lycoming scored the next 12 points to open up a double-digit cushion. The Warriors’ advantage swelled to 21 by halftime as Lycoming forced 13 turnovers, limited the Devils to 27% shooting, and made 17-of-18 free throws. In the second half, the Warriors’ lead grew to as many as 29 points before FDU closed the gap in the final minutes. Katy Kresge (Sr./Lehighton, Pa.; Marian Catholic) led Lycoming with 17 points and four rebounds in the game. Rebecca Pugh (So./Pine Grove, Pa.; Pine Grove) added 12 markers off the bench. Mindy Culp (Jr./New Columbia, Pa.; Milton) chipped in 11 points and three assists. The Devils were led by Pamela Sagehorn with a game-high 22 points. Jessie Chalmers added 15 points and eight rebounds. The Warriors will hit the road for their next game, traveling to Wilkes University on Tuesday, February 17. Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
