LYCOMING WOMEN’S BASKETBALL HIRES NEW ASSISTANT COACH

 WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College women’s basketball coach Chris Ditzler has announced the hiring of George Henry as an assistant coach for the 2004-2005 season.

Henry has been a vocal music teacher in the Muncy School District since 1982. He has also built his coaching resume while at Muncy, serving as an assistant coach for the varsity girls’ team during the 1984-85 season and again for the 1990-2004 seasons. During that time, the team won the District IV AA Championship (1993) and the District IV A Championship (2001). Henry was also the head coach for the girls’ junior high program from 1986-2003 and coordinated the elementary program for girls from 1986-2004. In 2004, he was named the “Educator of the Year” in the Muncy School District by the Williamsport Lycoming County Chamber of Commerce.

“I am pleased that George will be joining our basketball staff,” said Ditzler. “He brings years of valuable coaching experience and will be instrumental in all aspects of the program.”

Henry currently resides in Muncy with his wife Cathleen.
