LYCOMING WOMEN WIN SECOND STRAIGHT IN BASKETBALL

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Freshman Mindy Culp (New Columbia, PA; Milton) scored nearly half of the Warriors’ points as the Lycoming College women’s basketball team won their second consecutive conference game Wednesday evening, defeating Wilkes University, 62-58. The victory improved the Warriors’ record to 7-11 overall and 4-5 within the MAC Freedom Conference. The Colonels fell to 7-12 and 1-8.

Culp led Lycoming with a career-high 30 points in the game. The rookie point-guard came off the bench to knock down 10-of-16 shots from the field, including one three-pointer. She also converted 9-of-10 free throws. Lyndy LeVan (Jr./South Williamsport, PA; South Williamsport) added 15 points to the effort. Amy Lesko (Sr./Mountain Top, PA; Crestwood) led the squad in rebounding with seven boards. Michelle Stine (Fr./Mill Hall, PA; Central Mountain) had four assists in the contest.

The Warriors will be on the road again on Saturday when they travel to FDU-Madison, looking to get back to .500 within the conference.
