WARRIOR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STEALS VICTORY AT THE BUZZER

MADISON, N.J. – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team traveled to FDU-Madison, Saturday afternoon, for an MAC Freedom Conference contest. The Warriors won in dramatic fashion when Mindy Culp (Fr./New Columbia, PA; Milton) hit a 15-foot jumper as time expired to give Lycoming the 56-55 victory. The win was the Warriors third in a row and improves their record to 8-11 overall and 5-5 within the conference. FDU falls to 9-12 overall and 1-9 in the Freedom.

Lycoming carried a four-point lead into the half and hung on the win the game despite shooting just 27% from the field in the second period. Lyndy LeVan (Jr./South Williamsport, PA; South Williamsport) led all players with 19 points in the game. Katie Santo (Sr./Scotch Plains, NJ; Union Catholic) chipped in with 14 markers, including a pair of three-pointers. Tara Stepanchick (Sr./Lavelle, PA; North Schuylkill) led the squad with nine rebounds while scoring seven points.

The Warriors play their next game at home on Monday, February 4, when they host Commonwealth Conference rival Susquehanna University. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
