WOMEN’S BASKETBALL CRUISES PAST CENTENARY
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team picked up
their first victory of the season, Sunday afternoon, defeating
Centenary College in the consolation game of the Marriot Cougar
Classic held at Kean College. The Warriors raced out to a 41-19
halftime lead en route to an 82-58 victory. Lycoming is now 1-1 on
the season, while the Cyclones fall to 0-2.
Lindy
LeVan (Sr./Williamsport, PA; South Williamsport)
led the Warriors with 30 points and 17 rebounds in the game. Mindy
Culp (So./New Columbia, PA; Milton) added 16 points and nine
rebounds. Michelle Stine (So./Mill Hall, PA; Central Mountain)
also reached double figures with 11 points in the contest. All
told, 12 players saw action for Lycoming, with 11 putting points
on the board.
LeVan
was named to the all-tournament team for her performance in the
two-day event. She led all players with 57 points in the
tournament, while also adding 28 rebounds.
The
Warriors will play their first home game of the season on Tuesday,
November 26, when they host College Misericordia. Tip-off is
scheduled for 6 p.m. Admission is free to fans bringing a
non-perishable food item to the game to be donated to the United
Churches Food Bank.
