WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DROPS CONFERENCE CONTEST AT SCRANTON
SCRANTON, Pa. –
The Lycoming College women’s basketball team traveled to the
University of Scranton, Wednesday evening, for an MAC Freedom
Conference clash. The Warriors played strong defense throughout,
but could not quite match the Royals on the offensive end as the
home team picked up the 62-54 victory. Lycoming falls to 5-11
overall and 2-5 within the conference with the loss. The Royals
improve to 15-3 overall and 6-1 in the Freedom.
The Warriors
smelled upset early in the game, leading by as many as four midway
through the opening period. Scranton, however, used a run just
prior to halftime to carry a five-point advantage into the locker
room. Lycoming continued to battle through the second half but
could not regain the lead.
Lyndy LeVan
(Jr./South Williamsport, PA; South Williamsport)
led the Warriors with 13 points in the contest. She also grabbed
six rebounds. Mindy Culp (Fr./New Columbia, PA; Milton)
added 10 points, five rebounds, and three assists in the game. Katie
Kresge (So./Lehighton, PA; Marian) was Lycoming’s leading
rebounder with seven boards.
The
Warriors are at home for their next contest, hosting Delaware
Valley College on Saturday, Jan. 26. Tip-off for the game is at 1
p.m. in Lamade Gymnasium.
