Women's Basketball

WARRIOR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL OPENS SEASON WITH BLOWOUT VICTORY

LANCASTER, PA – The Lycoming College women’s basketball team opened up the season in dominating fashion with a 91-34 victory over Rosemont College in the opening round of the Franklin & Marshall Tournament Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors scored 51 points in the opening half while limiting the Ramblers to just 14 points. Lycoming then cruised through the second half to the 57-point victory.

Lyndy LeVan (Jr./South Williamsport, PA; South Williamsport) led Lycoming with 14 points and nine rebounds. Emily DiMarco (So./Voorhees, NJ; Eastern), Laurie Scherer (Sr./Mahanoy City, PA; Mahanoy City), Katy Kresge (So./Lehighton, PA; Marian), and Kori Sisto (Fr./Altoona, PA; Bishop Guilfoyle) each added 10 points. Scherer also grabbed nine rebounds and blocked a pair of shots. Freshman Erin George (Annville, PA; Annville-Cleona) led the squad with five assists.

The Warriors advance to the tournament’s championship game with the victory. They will play host Franklin & Marshall at 3 p.m.
