Lady Warriors Make Short
Work of Aggies
Williamsport, Pa. – Lycoming
women’s volleyball did its part in setting up tournament
seedings with a 3-0 whitewashing of Delaware Valley College on
Senior Night in Lamade Gymnasium. The Warriors bested the
Aggies 30-20, 30-12, 30-22 in relatively quick fashion.
The victory gives Lycoming a
shot at a third seed going into next week’s Freedom Conference
playoffs. Even with a victory, the Warriors could still end up
with the fourth seed if they don’t receive favorable outcomes
from their league counterparts in other conference action.
Reigning conference Player
of the Week Cassandra Kapson (Towanda, Pa./Towanda)
spearheaded Lycoming’s attack with 20 kills and a .457 hitting
percentage. She also added a match-high six service aces.
Fellow middle Lindsey Artz (Hegins, Pa./Tri-Valley)
followed up with yet another strong performance on 18 kills and
a .378 attack percentage. She had a trio of aces and dug 11
Aggie attacks.
Setter Danielle Busch
(Claymont, Del/Wilmington Charter) battled through early
struggles to post 37 assists on the evening. Senior Cara
Kapson (Towanda, Pa./Towanda) led the backline brigade with
12 digs.
Lycoming finishes the
regular season at Messiah College this Saturday. Joining
Messiah and Lycoming in the tri-match will be Marymount
University. Play is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. |
