Volleyball Splits Action at
Warrior Classic
Williamsport, Pa. – The
Lycoming College volleyball team split its four matches at the
13th Annual Warrior Classic Volleyball Tournament
over the weekend in Lamade Gymnasium.
The
Warriors lost to Dickinson College 3-1 (28-30, 23-30, 30-28,
24-30) on Friday night. Lycoming came back to win two out of
three matches on Saturday. The Warriors defeated Marywood
University 3-0 (30-28, 30-13, 30-25) and Penn College 3-0
(30-13, 30-25, 30-12), but fell to Penn State-Behrend 3-1
(16-30, 30-26, 15-30, 13-30).
Lycoming’s record now stands
at 4-11.
The victories over Marywood
and Penn College mark the second wins of the season against both
foes for the Warriors.
Junior Lindsey Artz (Hegins,
Pa./Tri-Valley) recorded double-digit kills in three of the
matches with 19 against Dickinson and 18 versus Marywood. She
led the Warriors with 61 totals kills and a .286 hitting
percentage.
Senior Cara Kapson
(Towanda, Pa./Towanda) led the defensive effort with 71
total digs which was good enough for a 5.07 digs per game
average during her 14 individual sets on the court.
Freshman Jennifer Snyder
(Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester) handled the majority of the
setting. She recorded 115 total assists during her 14 games of
play which marked an average of 8.21 assists per game.
Lycoming is next in action
on Tuesday, September 27, at Wilkes University. Match time is
set for 7:00 p.m. |
