Volleyball Ends Skid with Win in Quad Match

Clarks Summit, Pa. – Lycoming College volleyball picked up its second victory of the season in a quad match at Baptist Bible College on Saturday afternoon.  The Warriors (2-8) dropped their first two contests of the event, but regrouped for victory in the third.

Baptist Bible got the best of the Warriors 3-0 (30-27, 30-26, 30-11) in the first match and Susquehanna University did the same in match two (30-27, 30-13, 30-25), but Lycoming stormed back against Marywood University and returned the favor 30-22, 31-29, 30-25.

Junior middle hitters Lindsey Artz (Hegins, Pa./Tri-Valley) and Cassandra Kapson (Towanda, Pa./Towanda) were the leading hitters throughout for the Warriors.  Artz combined for 39 kills and a .310 hitting percentage in the three matches.  She also added eight blocks to her stat lines.  Kapson hit at a .273 clip with 29 total kills and five blocks

Sophomore setter Danielle Busch (Claymont, Del./Wilmington Charter) added 52 assists during her time on the court.

The Warriors are next in action on Wednesday, September 21, at DeSales University.  Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
