LYCOMING VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO KING’S IN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Lycoming College volleyball team had their season come to an end, Saturday evening, with a 3-0 loss to King’s College in the Freedom Conference championship. The Warriors fell by scores of 30-25, 30-20, and 30-27. Lycoming finishes the 2002 campaign with a record of 17-11. King’s improved to 38-1 and earned a bid to the NCAA national tournament.

The Warriors led the opening game 22-18, but could not hold on for the victory as the Monarchs outscored Lycoming 12-3 down the stretch. The comeback seemed to shift the momentum in King’s favor as they won the second game handily. The Warriors attempted their own comeback in the third game gaining a 26-25 lead after trailing 12-8, but the Monarchs again stole the win to close out the match.
