WARRIOR VOLLEYBALL OPENS SEASON WITH PAIR OF WINS AT BATTLEFIELD CLASSIC

GETTYSBURG, PA – The Lycoming College volleyball team opened their season, Friday evening, at the Battlefield Classic hosted by Gettysburg College. The event featured 18 Division III teams from across the mid-Atlantic region divided into six pools for the opening round of play. The Warriors won both of their first round contests to win their pool championship.

Lycoming defeated Gallaudet University in four games to open the tournament. The Warriors topped the Bison 31-29, 30-28, 26-30, and 30-22. 

In their second match, Lycoming again won in four games, this time defeating Eastern Mennonite College. Scores of the games were: 30-22, 23-30, 30-15, and 30-25.

By winning their pool, the Warriors advance to the championship round of competition on Saturday.
