VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS FDU-FLORHAM TO ADVANCE TO CONFERENCE
CHAMPIONSHIP
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – The Lycoming College volleyball team hosted FDU-Florham,
Wednesday evening, in a semifinal match of the Freedom Conference
tournament. The Warriors defeated the Devils in three straight
games by scores of 32-30, 30-24, and 30-23.
Lycoming
(17-10) was led by Kelli Watson (So./East Freedom, PA; Central)
and Layne Haverstock (Jr./Hesston, PA; Huntingdon), who
each recorded 12 kills in the match. Jessica Held
(Sr./Allentown, PA; Parkland) chipped in defensively with 16
digs, and Seneca Reilly (So./Athens, PA; Athens) tallied 41
assists.
Jana
Fassel (Sr./Scottsdale, AZ; Chaparrel)
led FDU-Florham (22-8) with 15 kills. Sylvia Klus
(Sr./Bloomfield, NJ; Bloomfield) recorded 16 digs and Erin
LeBan (So./Downers Grove, IL; Downers Grove) added 32 assists
for the Devils.
The
Warriors will travel to King’s College on Saturday, November 9,
for the championship match. King’s advanced to the title game by
defeating the University of Scranton in three straight games
(30-26, 30-24, 30-18). The match will begin at 7 p.m.
