PITTSBURGH, PA - The
Lycoming College volleyball team competed in a tournament at
Carnegie Mellon University, Friday and Saturday. During the first
day of action, the Warriors fell to the host school 3-0 (24-30,
23-30, 13-30), but rebounded to defeat Muhlenberg 3-1 (30-17,
30-16, 26-30, 30-17). On Saturday, Lycoming lost to Gettysburg 3-0
(24-30, 23-30, 28-30) and defeated Allegheny 3-0 (30-28, 30-23,
30-26).
Against Carnegie Mellon, Layne
Haverstock (Jr./Hesston, PA; Huntingdon) was the team leader
in kills and blocks with 16 and six respectively. Jana Reitz
(Fr./Waynesboro, PA; Waynesboro) had 13 digs to pace the
Warriors and Reilly added 24 assits.
Haverstock again led the
team in kills versus Muhlenberg with 18. Watson added 16 kills. Gretchen
Hause (Sr./Severna Park, MD; Severna Park) led the squad with
seven blocks. Reitz tallies 14 digs and Reilly added 36 assists.
Versus Gettysburg,
Haverstock paced the team with nine kills and three blocks. She
also led Lycoming with 12 digs. Reilly recorded 17 assists.
Finally, against Allegheny
Watson was the team leader in kills with 17 and Haverstock was the
team leader in blocks with five. Reitz recorded 19 digs and Reilly
tallied 25 assists.
