WINS TWO-OF-THREE AT GOLDEN DOME INVITATIONAL
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – The Lycoming College volleyball team traveled to
Rutgers-Newark for an invitational tournament Friday and Saturday.
The Warriors won their opening match, Friday evening, defeating
King’s Point in five games (30-16, 30-20, 27-30, 30-32, 15-11). On
Saturday, they split a pair of matches, topping York (NY) in three
games (30-10, 30-7, 30-12), but falling to Rutgers-Newark in five
games (28-30, 30-26, 30-28, 27-30, 15-13). Lycoming is now 13-6
overall this season.
Layne
Haverstock (Jr./Hesston, PA; Huntingdon)
led the Warriors against King’s Point with a match-high 23 kills.
Kelli Watson (So./East Freedom, PA; Central) added 18
kills, while Seneca Reilly (So./Athens, PA;
Athens)
led the team with 51 assists. Haverstock and Reilly also had five
service aces each.
Versus York,
Watson was the team leader in kills with nine, while adding six
service aces. Haverstock pitched in six kills to go along with a
team-high seven aces. Jana Reitz (Fr./Waynesboro, PA;
Waynesboro)
also had seven aces. Reilly recorded 19 assists in the match.
Haverstock and
Watson were again leaders in kills against Rutgers-Newark.
Haverstock tallied 18 kills and Watson recorded 15. Reilly had 36
assists. Jessica Held (Sr./Allentown, PA;
Parkland)
led the team with three aces.
