WARRIOR VOLLEYBALL COMPETES AT
WIDENER TOURNAMENT
HAVERFORD, Pa. –
The Lycoming
College volleyball team competed in a tournament hosted by
Widener University, Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. The
Warriors went 1-3 during the event, defeating Moravian College
in five games (30-26, 31-29, 27-30, 15-30, 15-11), but falling
to Widener University in three games (28-30, 22-30, 22-30);
Keuka College in three games (28-30, 23-30, 21-30); and Franklin
& Marshall College in five games (30-19, 20-30, 22-30, 30-25,
12-15). Lycoming is now 11-14 overall this season.
Against
Widener, Lindsey Artz (So./Hegins, Pa.; Tri-Valley) and
Kelli Watson (Sr./East Freedom, Pa.; Central) led the
team with 10 kills each. Artz also added six blocks in the
match. Jana Reitz (Sr./Waynesboro, Pa.; Waynesboro)
recorded a team-high 17 digs and Danielle Busch
(Fr./Claymont, Del.; Wilmington Charter) tallied 27 assists.
Watson again
led the team in kills versus Keuka with 15. Artz added 10 kills
and four blocks. Reitz led the defense with 14 digs and Busch
recorded 33 assists.
Artz led the
squad with 24 kills against Moravian, with Watson chipping in 14
and Cassandra Kapson (So./Towanda, Pa.; Towanda) adding
12. Reitz again tallied a team-high in digs with 31, while Busch
compiled 54 assists.
No
statistics from the Franklin & Marshall match were available at
the time of this release.
The Warriors
will return to conference play on Tuesday, October 12, when they
travel to FDU-Florham. |
