WARRIORS NAMED TO ALL-CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL TEAMS
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Three members of the Lycoming College
volleyball team have been named to the All-Freedom Conference
teams. Seniors Seneca Reilly (Athens, Pa.; Athens) and
Kelli Watson (East Freedom, Pa.; Central) were both named to
the first team. Sophomore Lindsey Artz (Hegins, Pa.;
Tri-Valley) was named to the second team.
Watson, a second-team selection
as a junior, has recorded 460 kills and 392 digs for the
Warriors in 2004. She has also tallied 94 blocks, 27 service
aces, and 19 assists. Watson ranked third in the conference in
kills and fifth in blocks.
Reilly makes her third appearance
on an all-conference team after earning first-team honors in
2003 and second-team honors in 2001. She leads Lycoming in
assists with 1,071, while also contributing 187 digs and 47
service aces. Reilly holds every Warrior record for setting,
including single-season assists with 1,328 in 2003 and career
assists with 4,191 and counting.
Artz is Lycoming’s leader in
kills with 575, blocks with 169, and service aces with 64. She
also has recorded 330 digs and 25 assists. Artz also led the
conference in kills and blocks, while ranking third in hitting
percentage to earn her first all-conference award.
The trio has led the Warriors to
their first conference championship and NCAA berth since the
1998 season. Lycoming enters the playoffs with an overall record
of 16-19 and will face Eastern University in the opening round.
That match will be played at Gettysburg College on Thursday,
November 11, at 7 p.m. |
