LYCOMING VOLLEYBALL SUFFERS CONFERENCE LOSS IN FIVE GAMES

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College volleyball team hosted Wilkes University, Wednesday evening, in Lamade Gymnasium. The Warriors took the Colonels to five games but could not hang on for the victory falling in the fifth game 15-11. Lycoming won the first and third games by scores of 30-25 and 30-27. Wilkes won the second and fourth games by scores of 30-26 and 30-26. The Warriors drop to 10-11 overall and 3-1 within the Freedom Conference. The Colonels improve to 10-9 and 2-1.

Lycoming was led by Kelli Watson (Sr./East Freedom, Pa.; Central) and Lindsey Artz (So./Hegins, Pa.; Tri-Valley) with 14 kills each. Artz added a match-high eight blocks, while Watson kicked in 13 digs and five blocks. Jana Reitz (Sr./Waynesboro, Pa.; Waynesboro) contributed 13 kills and a team-high 18 digs. Danielle Busch (Fr./Claymont, Del.; Wilmington Charter) handled the setting responsibilities, recording 34 assists and a match-high six service aces.

Wilkes was led by Jillian Focht with 15 kills. Amanda Harlan and Alicia Vieselmeyer each added 14 kills. Nicole Hahn tallied 43 assists and Jeanine Barber led the Colonels with 28 digs.

The Warriors will play again on Friday and Saturday at a tournament hosted by Widener University.
