LYCOMING VOLLEYBALL TOPS SCRANTON
Secures Playoff Berth

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College volleyball team hosted the University of Scranton, Wednesday evening, for a pivotal Freedom Conference match. The Warriors defeated the Royals in four games by scores of 30-20, 29-31, 30-27, and 30-25. The victory secures Lycoming’s spot in the conference playoffs and positions them well for at least one home match. The Warriors are now 13-16 overall this season and 5-1 within the conference. Scranton falls to 24-6 and 4-1.

Lindsey Artz (So./Hegins, Pa.; Tri-Valley) led Lycoming with 22 kills and four blocks in the match. Kelli Watson (Sr./East Freedom, Pa.; Central) added 19 kills. Jana Reitz (Sr./Waynesboro, Pa.; Waynesboro) provided the defense with a match-high 19 digs. Seneca Reilly (Sr./Athens, Pa.; Athens) recorded 48 assists.

Katie McManus (Jr./Cincinnati, Ohio; Mt. Notre Dame) was the Royals’ kills leader with 20. She also tallied 13 digs. Cassie Dyer (Jr./Lafayette Hill, Pa.; Mt. St. Joseph’s) had 45 assists.

The Warriors will not play again until October 29, when they travel to Carnegie Mellon University for a tournament. Details about the Freedom Conference Tournament, beginning on Wednesday, November 3, will be available following the conclusion of the regular season conference schedule on Tuesday, October 26.
