LYCOMING VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO YORK AND WASHINGTON

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Lycoming College volleyball team suffered a heartbreaking second day of competition at the Battlefield Classic at Gattysburg College. The Warriors played two matches to five games, but could not claim a victory in either contest. Lycoming fell to York College by scores of 30-32, 23-30, 30-28, 30-18, and 12-15; and bowed to Washington College by scores of 23-30, 30-28, 30-15, 28-30, and 12-15. The Warriors are now 2-4 on the season.

Against York, Lindsay Artz (So./Hegins, Pa.; Tri-Valley) led the team with 30 kills and five blocks. Kelli Watson (Sr./East Freedom, Pa.; Central) added 20 kills. Seneca Reilly (Sr./Athens, Pa.; Athens) recorded 52 assists, Casey Renninger (Jr./Pottsville, Pa.; Blue Mountain) tallied a team-high eight digs, and Jana Reitz (Sr./Waynesboro, Pa.; Waynesboro) contributed six service aces.

Versus Washington, Watson led the team with 24 kills and six blocks, while Artz added 23 kills and five blocks. Reilly compiled 40 assists and Renninger claimed a team-high seven aces. Watson also led the team with eight digs.

Lycoming travels to Delaware Valley College for their next match on Tuesday, September 14.
