WARRIOR VOLLEYBALL TOPS WILKES
Clinches Playoff Berth

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Lycoming College volleyball team traveled to Wilkes University, Wednesday evening, for a Freedom Conference match. The Warriors needed four games, but eventually defeated the Colonels, 30-25, 21-30, 30-14, and 30-23, to remain perfect in conference play at 4-0. Lycoming is 16-5 overall. Wilkes falls to 8-12 and 0-3. The victory also secured a spot for the Warriors in the Freedom Conference playoffs.

Layne Haverstock (Sr./Hesston, Pa.; Huntingdon) led Lycoming with 19 kills in the match. Kelli Watson (Jr./East Freedom, Pa.; Central) added 10 kills. Jana Reitz (Jr./Waynesboro, Pa.; Waynesboro) had a team-high 14 digs, and Seneca Reilly (Jr./Athens, Pa.; Athens) recorded 47 assists. Lindsay Artz (Fr./Hegins, Pa.; Tri-Valley) led the team in blocks with three.

The Warriors will be at home for the next match, hosting both Messiah College and the University of Scranton for a tri-match.
