LYCOMING VOLLEYBALL WINS FIRST CONFERENCE MATCH OF SEASON

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Lycoming College won their fifth consecutive match, Tuesday evening, sweeping Delaware Valley College in their first Freedom Conference action of the young season. The Warriors dominated the Aggies winning by scores of 30-11, 30-11, and 30-23. Lycoming is now 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference. Delaware Valley drops to 0-3 and 0-1.

Layne Haverstock (Sr./Hesston, Pa.; Huntingdon) led the Warriors with seven kills and three blocks in the match. Lindsey Artz (Fr./Hegins, Pa.; Tri-Valley) added five kills and two blocks. Lauren Shoemaker (So./Wantagh, N.Y.; Wantagh) led the team with 18 assists. Cara Kapson (So./Towanda, Pa.; Towanda) and Jocelyn Hendershot (So./Bethlehem , Pa.; Liberty) each recorded six digs in the contest.

Lycoming will play again on Saturday, September 20, when they host Penn State-Altoona at 10 a.m.
