VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS FDU-FLORHAM
Clinches Home Playoff Match
WILLIAMSPORT, PA
– The Lycoming College volleyball team hosted FDU-Florham,
Tuesday evening, for a Freedom Conference match-up. The Warriors
defeated the Devils in three straight games by scores of 30-21,
30-16, and 30-23, to remain undefeated in conference play at 5-0
and move to 19-5 overall. The victory also guarantees Lycoming at
least one home match during the conference playoffs beginning
November 5. FDU falls to 21-8 overall and 2-2 within the Freedom.
Kelli Watson
(Jr./East Freedom, Pa.; Central)
led the Warriors with 20 kills in the match. Layne Haverstock
(Sr./Hesston, Pa.; Huntingdon) added 12 kills and four blocks.
Seneca Reilly (Jr./Athens, Pa.; Athens) recorded team-highs
in both assists and digs with 41 and nine, respectively.
Prior to the
match, Lycoming honored seniors Haverstock and Melanie McCoy
(Bloomingburg, Ohio; Miami Trace) for their outstanding
careers as Warriors. The duo has combined for nearly 2,000 kills,
500 blocks, and 1,700 digs during their careers, and has led the
team to a combined record of 59-36 and three Freedom Conference
playoff berths.
Lycoming travels
to Susquehanna University, Thursday evening, for a non-conference
match.
