VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS BAPTIST BIBLE AND SUSQUEHANNA
WILLIAMSPORT, PA
– The Lycoming College volleyball team hosted Baptist Bible
College and Susquehanna University, Saturday afternoon, for a
tri-match. The Warriors won both of their contests, defeating
Baptist Bible 3-0 by scores of 30-21, 30-10, and 30-24; and
topping Susquehanna 30-29, 30-29, and 30-23. Lycoming is now 6-2
on the season.
Layne
Haverstock (Sr./Hesston, Pa.; Huntingdon)
led the Warriors against Baptist Bible with 15 kills and three
blocks. Melanie McCoy (Sr./Bloomingburg, Ohio; Miami Trace)
and Jana Reitz (Jr./Waynesboro, Pa.; Waynesboro) each added
nine kills. McCoy also led the team with 12 digs. Seneca Reilly
(Jr./Athens, Pa.; Athens) recorded 30 assists in the match.
Versus
Susquehanna, Haverstock again led the team in kills and blocks
with 14 and three, respectively. She also tallied a team-high 10
digs. Lindsey Artz (Fr./Hegins, Pa.; Tri-Valley) and Reitz
each added 10 kills. Reilly had 37 assists in the match.
Lycoming plays
again on Tuesday, September 16, when they host conference rival
Delaware Valley College. The match is set for 7 p.m. in Lamade
Gymnasium.
