WARRIOR
VOLLEYBALL PICKS UP PAIR OF WINS
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – The Lycoming College volleyball team picked up a pair of
victories, Saturday afternoon. The Warriors hosted Messiah College
and the University of Scranton for a tri-meet. Lycoming defeated
Messiah in three games 30-21, 30-27, and 30-19; and topped
Scranton in four games 23-30, 30-22, 30-23, and 30-19. The
Warriors are now 18-5 overall this season.
Against
Messiah, Kelli Watson (Jr./East Freedom, Pa.; Central) led
the team with 13 kills. Layne Haverstock (Sr./Hesston, Pa.;
Huntingdon) added 12 kills and 11 digs. Lindsey Artz (Fr./Hegins,
Pa.; Tri-Valley) chipped in 10 kills and a team-high eight
blocks. Melanie McCoy (Sr./Bloomingburg, Ohio; Miami Trace)
tallied 11 digs and six kills. Seneca Reilly (Jr./Athens, Pa.;
Athens) recorded 32 assists in the match.
Versus
Scranton, Watson again led the team in kills with 17 while adding
14 digs. Haverstock contributed 16 kills and nine digs. McCoy
recorded 10 kills and 15 digs. Jana Reitz (Jr./Waynesboro, Pa.;
Waynesboro) had a team-high 22 digs and Reilly tallied 48
assists.
Lycoming
is home again on Tuesday, October 14, when they host FDU-Florham.
