WARRIOR VOLLEYBALL WINS HOME OPENER

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Lycoming College volleyball team picked up a conference win over DeSales University in their home opener Tuesday evening. The Warriors needed all five games but pulled out the victory to even their overall record at 4-4 and their conference record at 1-1. Scores of the games were 30-20, 25-20, 20-30, 30-20, and 15-9. The Bulldogs fell to 2-9 with the loss.

Layne Haverstock (So./Hesston, PA;Huntingdon) led the team in both kills and blocks with 24 and nine, respectively. Gretchen Hause (Jr./Severna Park, MD; Severna Park) added 10 kills and seven blocks. Seneca Reilly (Fr./Athens, PA; Athens) recorded 46 assists in the match. Melanie McCoy (So./Bloomingburg, OH; Miami Trace) had four service aces for Lycoming.

“We didn’t play our best volleyball tonight, but we got the win,” said Lycoming Head Coach Tim McMahon. “We’ll try and learn from tonight and build on it when we travel to Wilkes on Thursday.”
