LYCOMING TRACK AND FIELD PLACES FIVE INDIVIDUALS AT JUNIATA

HUNTINGDON, PA – The Lycoming College track and field team traveled to Juniata College, on Saturday, to compete in the Blue & Gold Invitational. Five individual Warriors came home as place-winners.

For the women’s team, three student-athletes placed in field events for Lycoming. Laurie Scherer (Sr./Mahanoy City, PA; Mahanoy Area) placed second in the high jump with a season-best leap of five feet even. Lauren Derrick (So./Livingston, NJ; Livingston) also placed in the high jump, clearing 4’6” for sixth place. Angela Casselberry (Jr./Muncy, PA; Hughesville) grabbed a fifth place in the triple jump with a distance of 30’10”.

For the men’s team, both places came in the javelin. Andy Ehrke (So./Williamstown, NJ; St. Augustine Prep) threw the javelin 139’2” to finish in fifth place. Nick Schneider (Fr./Bridgewater, NJ; Bridgewater Raritan) was close behind in sixth place with a toss of 138’6”.
