SWIMMERS LACK DEPTH TO KEEP UP WITH ALBRIGHT
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa. – The Lycoming College swimming teams hosted Albright
College in a Middle Atlantic Conference meet Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors swam well but did not have the depth to keep pace
with the defending MAC champions for both men and women.
Lycoming
did claim four individual champions and one relay win on the day.
For the women, Karen Turpin (Fr./West Windsor, NJ; Princeton)
won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.62. Andrea
Rapach (So./Pittsford, NY; Mendon) posted a win in the
100-yard freestyle, swimming a time of :56.31. The Lady Warriors
also won the 200-yard medley relay with a team of Jessica
Amadore (Fr./Easton; Wilson), Kristen Campbell (So./Camp
Hill; Cedar Cliff), Turpin and Rapach. The quartet swam a
1:52.70 to out pace their opponents.
In
the men’s meet, AJ LeViere (Jr./Pittsburgh; Monsignor Bonner)
and Chris DeZago (Fr./Sparkill, NY; Tappen Zee) were the
individual winners. LeViere won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:52.97
and DeZago won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:07.55.
Lycoming
will be in action again on Wednesday, when they travel to Juniata
College.
