LYCOMING
PLACES 4TH AND 5TH AT MAC SWIMMING
CHAMPIONSHIPS
SCRANTON, Pa. –
The 2001 Middle Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships came to
a close Sunday afternoon at the University of Scranton. Lycoming
placed fourth in the eight-team men’s field and fifth in the
11-team women’s field. Widener University was the men’s
champion and Albright College was the women’s champion.
Andrea
Rapach (So./Pittsford, NY; Mendon) broke her second school
record of the championships, swimming a :55.38 in the
preliminaries of the 100-yard freestyle. She went on to finish
second in the event, swimming a :55.42 in the finals.
For the
men’s team, A.J. LeViere (Jr./Pittsburgh; Monsignor Bonner)
was the top performer, finishing second in the 100-yard freestyle.
His time was :49.09. Freshman Chris DeZago (Sparkill, NY;
Tappen Zee) also recorded a top-six finish, placing fifth in
the 1650-yard freestyle. DeZago recorded a time of 17:38.19.
