Swimmers Win Home Meet   Ban and Dempsey Emerge

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—The women’s and men’s swim teams beat Drew on Saturday.  The meet was the squads’ first and only    home contest of 2006. Lycoming does face Misericordia at Lamade Gymnasium in January.

The Lady Warriors continued to excel, winning 153-100. Milvana Ban (Harrisburg, PA) led the charge, taking first in the 400-yard individual medley and the 200-yard backstroke. After the official events were finished, the teams swam several exhibition events. Freshman Chelsey Jeremiah (Shamokin, PA) edged Ban in the exhibited 400-yard IM.

Senior Chris Dempsey (Newtown, PA) won the men’s exhibition of the 200-yard IM. And when the times counted, Dempsey shone with victories in the 200-yard breaststroke and 400-yard IM. Freshman Sean Houser (Alexandria, VA) swam well, winning the men’s 100-yard freestyle.

Lycoming’s next meet is a three-day event at College of Wooster, Nov. 30–Dec. 2.
