Swim Teams Compete at Susquehanna                             Women Win Every Event

SELINSGROVE, Pa.—The women's swim team won handily at Susquehanna, but the men could not claim victory on Tuesday. The Lady Warriors topped the Lady Crusaders 127-75, while the men fell 123-82.

The Lady Warriors won every event on the evening, including sweeping the 100-yard butterfly as well as the 50 and 100-yard freestyle sprints. Sophomore Milvana Ban (Harrisburg, PA) was exceptional, winning the 500 and 1000-yard freestyle events. Meanwhile, Amy Bentz (Elizabethtown, PA) took first in the 200-yard free.

The men raised their game, sweeping the 100-yard backstroke and taking first and second in the 50-yard freestyle, but it wasn't enough to defeat the Crusaders. Lycoming sophomore Brian Fausel (Burdett, NY) stood out for the team, winning the men’s 100-yard butterfly.

“We had a very good meet tonight.” Said Head Coach Jerry Hammaker, “Both teams swam really well. We’re still improving and that’s a goal we set for ourselves each meet.”

The swimmers have an important meet on Saturday, November 18. Hammaker’s squads face Drew at 1:00 at Lamade Gymnasium.
