Competes at Wooster Invitational
Young Warriors Have
Several Strong Showings
WOOSTER,
Ohio—Although they did not have any individual victories at the
10-team Wooster Invitational, the Warrior swimmers posted
several personal best times and showed much promise. Several
Warrior swimmers placed in the top ten of their respective
events. Head coach Jerry Hammaker believes, "we've set
ourselves up for some tough training and good seed times for the
MAC's."
Sophomore
Milvana Ban
(Harrisburg, PA)
excelled in
multiple categories, finishing 5th in the women’s
400-yard IM, 12th in the 500-yard freestyle and 7th
in the 200-yard backstroke. Senior Amy Gatehouse (Bethel
Park, PA) notched a pair of 8th place finishes in
the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke.
Men’s
Co-Captain, Chris Dempsey (Newtown, PA) recorded a pair
of top ten finishes. The senior placed 7th in the
1650-yard freestyle and 7th in the 400-yard IM.
Sophomore Brian Fausel (Burdett, NY) also recorded top
ten finishes in both the 100 and 200-yard butterfly.
Sean Houser
(Alexandria, VA),
Austin Johnstone (Woodbine, MD), and Nichole Zoller (Colonia,
NJ) all grabbed top ten finishes at Wooster as well. All
three freshmen figure to be serious contributors as the Warrior
swim teams progress over the next four years.
