WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College swimming teams hosted King’s College, Thursday evening, for a Middle Atlantic Conference dual meet. Both the Warrior women and Warrior men dominated the Monarchs, with the women winning 102-49 and the men winning 100-51. Lycoming’s women improve to 5-4 overall in dual meets, while the Warrior men improve to 6-3.

Six different women won races for Lycoming. Stephanie Kudrick (Fr./Coudersport, Pa.; Coudersport) won the 100 breaststroke, Mallory Doherty (Sr./Camilllus, N.Y.; West Genesee) won the 500 freestyle, Jen Konecni (So./Highland Mills, N.Y.; Monroe Woodbury) won the 100 backstroke, Kelli Cicconi (So./Odessa, N.Y.; Odessa-Montour Central) won the 100 freestyle, Kelly Sykes (Jr./Willimantic, Conn.; Windham) won the 100 butterfly, and Erin Horsley (Sr./Allegany, N.Y.; Allegany Central) won the 400 IM.

For the men, Chris Mungo (Jr./Boonton, N.J.; Montville Twp.) and Steve Hawley (Jr./New Cumberland, Pa.; Trinity) each won two events to lead the Warriors. Mungo won the 100 breaststoke and the 100 freestyle. Hawley won the 100 backstroke and the 50 freestyle. Other winners for Lycoming’s men included: Jeff Field (Sr./Shamong, N.Y.; Shawnee) in the 500 freestyle; Josh Hogan (Sr./Waverly, N.Y.; Waverly) in the 100 butterfly; Jeff Swatkins (Jr./Guilford, Conn.; Xavier) in the 400 IM; and Mark Ross (Jr./Laurens, N.Y.; Oneonta) in the 200 freestyle.

“This was our last home meet of the season, so it was a nice way for our seniors to go out,” said Warrior head coach Jerry Hammaker. “Overall, we swam well and qualified a few more athletes for the conference meet. But tonight was really about recognizing our seniors and thanking them for their contributions to the program over the past four years.”

Lycoming will swim again on Saturday, January 22, when they travel to Lebanon Valley College for a tri-meet with the Dutchmen and FDU-Florham.
