WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – The Lycoming College swimming teams hosted Albright
College, Tuesday evening, for a dual meet. Both the Warrior women
and men fell to the Lions by scores of 77-126 and 82-121,
respectively. Lycoming’s women are now 4-2 in dual meets this
season, while the men are now 5-2.
Steve
Hawley (So./New Cumberland, Pa.; Trinity)
was the top Warrior performer winning the 50 freestyle with a time
of 22.13 seconds.
Hawley
also swam a leg on the 200-free relay team that placed first. The
other relay members were Josh Hogan (Jr./Waverly, N.Y.;
Waverly), Tim Roche (So./Wyndmoor, Pa.; Springfield
Township), and Nathan DeCapria (So./Jersey Shore, Pa.;
Central Mountain).
Lycoming’s
women’s team also won the 200-free relay with a team of Kellie
Cicconi (Fr./Odessa, N.Y.; Odessa-Montour Central), Kelly
Sykes (So./Willimantic, Conn.; Windham), Erin Patrick
(Jr./Media, Pa.; Penncrest), and Jessica Gough
(Fr./Berwick, Pa.; Berwick).
“Despite
the final scores, I’m pleased with how hard we swam tonight,”
said Warrior head coach Jerry Hammaker. “We came into the meet
tired after training hard the past two days. Yesterday we did a
leg set in the morning and a ‘Super Highlander’ dropout set in
the evening; then this morning we swam one hundred 100s. We’re
right where we need to be at this point in the season.”
Lycoming
will be in action again on Saturday, January 17, when they host
the University of Scranton for a dual meet.
