LYCOMING
SWIM TEAMS FALL AT ALBRIGHT
READING, PA –
The Lycoming College swimming teams traveled to Albright College,
Saturday afternoon. Both Warrior squads fell to the Lions – the
women by a score of 82-122 and the men 81-125. Lycoming’s women
are now 4-3 overall, while the men drop to 5-2.
Nathan
DeCapria (Fr./Jersey Shore, PA; Central Mountain)
was the men’s top performer winning both the 50 and 100
freestyle races. His time of 21.79 seconds in the 50 free set a
new pool record at Albright.
For the women, Kelly
Sykes (Fr./Willimantic, CT; Windham) led the way by winning
both the 400 IM and 200 backstroke. Rebecca Fox
(So./Middletown, NJ; Middletown) added a victory in the 1000
free, and Andrea Rapach (Sr./Pittsford, NY; Pittsford Mendon)
won the 50 free.
“Even though we
didn’t come away with a victory, this was a good meet for us,”
said Head Coach Jerry Hammaker. “We got more swimmers qualified
for the conference meet on both the women’s and men’s teams
and I think we’re right on schedule to do some good things in
February.”
The Warriors are
in action again on Wednesday, January 29, when they host
Elizabethtown College for their final home meet of the season. The
meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
