WARRIOR SWIM TEAMS SWEEP DREW

MADISON, N.J. – The Lycoming College men’s and women’s swim teams each picked up a dual-meet victory over conference rival Drew University, Saturday afternoon. The Warrior men won by a score of 155-89, while Lycoming’s women won 150-82. The Warrior teams are now 4-1 and 3-1, respectively, in dual meets this season.

The men were led by Nathan DeCapria (So./Jersey Shore, Pa.; Central Mountain), Dustin Long (So./Halifax, Pa.; Halifax), and Stuart Olsen (So./Evanston, Ill.; Evanston) who each won two individual events on the afternoon. DeCapria won the 50 and 100 frees. His time of 21.09 seconds in the 50 free lowered his provisional qualifying time for the national championships. Long picked up victories in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. Olsen was a winner in the 200 and 500 free events.

Jeff Swatkins (So./Guilford, Conn.; Xavier) contributed a victory in the 200 butterfly and Josh Hogan (Jr./Waverly, N.Y.; Waverly) added a win in the 100 butterfly. Lycoming also won both the 200-medley and 200-free relays.

On the women’s side, Rebecca Fox (Jr./Middletown, N.J.; Middletown South) led the way with a trio of individual victories. Fox finished first in the 1000 free, the 100 breaststroke, and the 400 IM. Kelly Sykes (So./Willimantic, Conn.; Windham) was also a multi-event winner, placing first in the 100 and 200 backstrokes.

Other individual winners for the Warrior women, included: Erin Patrick (Jr./Media, Pa.; Penncrest) in the 200 free; Erin Horsley (Jr./Allegany, N.Y.; Allegany Central) in the 200 butterfly; Jess Amadore (Sr./Easton, Pa.; Wilson) in the 50 free; Kellie Cicconi (Fr./Odessa, N.Y.; Odessa-Montour Central) in the 100 free; Amy Gatehouse (Fr./Bethel Park, Pa.; Bethel Park) in the 200 breaststroke; and Tracey Fausel (Jr./Burdett, N.Y.; Watkins Glen) in the 100 butterfly. Lycoming also won the 200-medley and 200-free relays.

The Warriors will compete again on Tuesday, December 2, when they host Susquehanna University.
