WARRIOR MEN PLACE THIRD, WOMEN FIFTH AT MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

SELINSGROVE, PA – The Lycoming College swimming teams completed three days of competition at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships hosted by Susquehanna University, earlier this afternoon. Both Warrior squads were very successful with the men placing third out of nine teams and the women coming in fifth in a 10-team field.

“We really swam an outstanding meet,” said head coach Jerry Hammaker. “A lot of our swimmers turned in fast times and we broke a number of school records. Overall both teams finished about where we thought they would and I think we’ll look at this meet as another milestone in the building process of the program. Things are definitely moving in the right direction. I’m extremely proud of both teams.”

During competition on Sunday, the men were again led by Nathan DeCapria (Fr./Jersey Shore, PA; Central Mountain) who placed third in the 100 freestyle and broke his own school record in the event with a time of :48.13. Dave DeZago (Jr./Sarasota, FL; Tappen Zee) added a sixth place finish in the 200 breaststroke.
