SWIMMING OPENS SEASON BY WINNING MAC RELAYS
SCRANTON, PA –
The Lycoming College swim team got their season of to a strong
start by competing at the MAC Relays held at the University of
Scranton, Saturday afternoon. The Warriors scored 372 points to
outpace second-place Scranton by 36 points and win the eight-team
event.
The invitational
featured 10 relays made up of “mixed” teams (men and women)
from each institution. Lycoming dominated the competition by
winning eight of the 10 relays.
“This is a
great start to our season. We’ve been working really hard in
practice over the past few weeks and I was a bit surprised at how
well we swam today,” said Lycoming head coach Jerry Hammaker.
“Now we’re looking forward to our men traveling to Bloomsburg
next week and both squads traveling to Clarion on Saturday to take
on three division II programs. Today was a good indicator of where
we are as a team. Next week will be a great chance for us to
measure where we are in individual events.”
