WILKES-BARRE, Pa.
– The Lycoming College swimming team traveled to King’s
College for men’s and women’s dual meets to conclude the
regular season. The Warrior women defeated the Monarchs 142-44,
while the men won 11-0 winning the opening relay and swimming
exibition for the remainder of the events.
Lycoming’s women finish the dual meet season with a perfect 12-0

way for the Warriors with two individual victories each. Horsley
won the 1000 free and 200 fly. Turpin won the 200 and 500 free

side Rich Jones (Sr./Montgomery, NY; Valley Central) and Jeremy
Klaas (So./Metuchen, NJ; Metuchen) provided the highlights as
both swimmers recorded qualifying times for the conference
championships. The addition of Jones and Klaas to the championship
roster means that the entire Lycoming men’s team is eligible to
compete.
“It has been a
phenomenal year,” said Head Coach Jerry Hammaker. “For the
women to go from 6-10 last season to undefeated at 12-0, and the
men to improve from 5-9 to 8-2, just goes to show how hard both
these teams have been working. I’m very proud of the way we
competed during the dual meet season and I think we did it while
setting ourselves up well for the conference meet in a few weeks.
We’re excited to see what we can do there.”
