LYCOMING MEN’S
TENNIS TEAM DROPS HOME OPENER
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.
– The Lycoming College men’s tennis team hosted Drew
University, Sunday afternoon, for a MAC Freedom Conference match.
The Warriors won one singles and one double match but ultimately
fell to the Rangers by a score of 6-1. The loss dropped Lycoming
to 0-2 on the season, while Drew improved to 8-1.
Andy Slawecki
(So./Trappe; Perkiomen Valley)
and Colin Gabler (So./Camp Hill; Trinity) opened the match
with an 8-5 victory over Dan Burns and Josh Curran at third
doubles. However, the Rangers won at first and second doubles to
claim the team point for doubles competition.
In singles
action, Scott Moerschbacher (Sr./Montoursville; Montoursville)
was the Warriors’ lone winner, defeating J.D. Spina in three
sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
