TENNIS DROPS MATCH TO SUSQUEHANNA
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s tennis team
hosted rival Susquehanna University, Tuesday afternoon. The
Warriors won 2-of-3 doubles matches, but just 1-of-6 singles
matches to fall to the Crusaders, 2-5. Lycoming drops to 1-6
overall, while Susquehanna improves to 3-3.
The Warriors
opened the match by sweeping three doubles victories.
Bernardo Urdaneta (Sr./Maracaibo, Venezuela; Bishop Neumann)
and Ryan Horsley (Fr./Allegany, N.Y.; Allegany Central)
won at first doubles 8-6. Jason
Mathews (Sr./North Wales, Pa.; Christopher Dock) teamed with
Sam Trone (Fr./Aspers, Pa.; Biglerville) at second
doubles for an 8-5 win over Steve Kane and Pete Kokolus.
Peter Ruhl (So./Muncy, Pa.; Muncy) paired with Mike
Byerly (Fr./West Milton, Pa.; Lewisburg) at third doubles
for a 9-8 victory over Justin Rhood and Ofir Tomer.
In singles
action, Horsley was the lone winner for Lycoming. Horsley defeated Adam Marichak,
6-2, 6-1, in the second position.
The Warriors
will travel to King’s College on Tuesday, April 13, for their
next match.
