MEN’S TENNIS COMES UP SHORT VERSUS FDU-FLORHAM
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – The Lycoming College men’s tennis team hosted Freedom
Conference rival FDU-Florham, Monday afternoon. The Warriors won a
pair of singles matches but ultimately fell to the Devils, 5-2.
Lycoming is now 1-4 overall this season and 0-4 in the Freedom
Conference. FDU improves to 5-4 and 1-2.
Andy
Slawecki (Sr./Trappe, PA; Perkiomen Valley)
was the Warriors’ top performer, picking up a victory at fourth
singles. Slawecki defeated Arkady Smolyansky 2-6, 6-1, 7-5. Kyle
Bartz (So./Ridgefield, CT; Ridgefield) claimed the other team
point for Lycoming, accepting a forfeit at sixth singles.
Bartz and
teammate Adam Makos (Sr./Montoursville, PA; Montoursville)
also received a forfeit at third doubles, but the Devils won first
and second doubles to claim the lone team point.
The Warriors
are right back at it tomorrow afternoon, hosting DeSales
University for another Freedom Conference match beginning at 3:30
p.m.
